Nogai Khan

Nogai Khan was a Mongol commander and political leader who dominated Golden Horde politics and campaigns in the western steppes during the late 13th century.

Möngke-Temür: Möngke-Temür was a ruler of the Golden Horde from 1266 to 1280. Nogai served as a senior military leader during his reign.
Ulus: An ulus was a Mongol dynastic domain and the people or territory assigned to a ruler. Nogai’s western power base was part of the Jochid ulus.
Jochi: Jochi was the eldest son of Genghis Khan and founder of the ruling dynasty of the Golden Horde. Nogai belonged to the Jochid ruling house, though not to its khanly line.
Mongol invasion of Bulgaria: Mongol incursions into Bulgaria were military interventions by Golden Horde forces in the late 13th century. Nogai’s campaigns helped make Bulgarian succession vulnerable to outside pressure.

Golden Horde khan: A Golden Horde khan was the dynastic sovereign who formally ruled the Jochid state. Nogai wielded extensive authority without becoming the recognized khan.
