Knowra Northwestern China Northwestern China Northwestern China is a broad region commonly comprising Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Shaanxi. It spans arid basins, high plateaus, and the eastern approaches to Central Asia.

Han dynasty : A Chinese imperial dynasty that ruled from 206 BCE to 220 CE, with an interregnum from 9 to 23 CE. Han expansion into the Hexi Corridor secured routes toward the western regions.
Qinghai–Tibet Railway : A railway linking Xining in Qinghai with Lhasa in Tibet, opened throughout in 2006. It connects the region’s high plateau to national transport networks.
Southwestern China : A broad region of China commonly encompassing Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Chongqing. Its humid mountains and river valleys differ sharply from the northwest’s arid landscapes.
