Novosibirsk

Novosibirsk is a city in southwestern Siberia, Russia, and the administrative center of Novosibirsk Oblast. It is Siberia’s largest city and a major center of transport, science, and culture.

Trans-Siberian Railway: A railway network connecting European Russia with the Russian Far East across Siberia. The railway crossing over the Ob River founded the settlement that became Novosibirsk.
Akademgorodok: A scientific research district of Novosibirsk founded in 1957. Its institutes anchor the city’s internationally recognized research community.
Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Novosibirsk: An Orthodox cathedral in Novosibirsk completed in 1899. It is among the oldest surviving monumental buildings from the city’s early years.
