Numbat

The numbat is a small, diurnal Australian marsupial that feeds mainly on termites. It is the sole living member of the family Myrmecobiidae.

Termite: A social insect in the infraorder Isoptera, known for feeding largely on cellulose-rich material. Termites make up most of the numbat’s diet.
Mycology: The branch of biology concerned with fungi. Despite their name, numbats eat termites rather than ants or fungi.
