Nuon Chea

Nuon Chea was a senior Khmer Rouge leader, widely known as Pol Pot’s chief ideologue. He was convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity for atrocities committed in Cambodia.

Pol Pot: Pol Pot led Democratic Kampuchea and the Khmer Rouge during Cambodia’s rule from 1975 to 1979. Nuon Chea was his senior deputy and was often described as the regime’s chief ideologue.
