Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains

A mountain range in central Tibet running roughly northwest to southeast. It forms part of the divide between the Yarlung Tsangpo valley and the Changtang plateau.

Kiang: The Tibetan wild ass, a large equid adapted to the high-altitude grasslands of the Tibetan Plateau. Its grazing range includes open plateau country north of the mountains.
Chang Tang: A high-altitude plateau region in northern Tibet, characterized by broad plains, lakes, and sparse settlement. The range separates parts of this northern region from the Yarlung Tsangpo valley.
Nam Co: A large saline lake in Tibet, north of Lhasa and south of the central Changtang. The lake lies immediately north of the range and is framed by its peaks.
