Nymphaea

Nymphaea is a genus of aquatic flowering plants commonly called water lilies. Its species have floating leaves and flowers borne at or above the water’s surface.

Water lily leaf: A broad leaf adapted to float on the surface of still or slow-moving water. Its upper surface and air spaces help Nymphaea leaves float and exchange gases.
Water gardening: The cultivation of plants in ponds, pools, and other designed water features. Nymphaea is among the best-known flowering plants used in ornamental water gardens.
