Octavian

Octavian was the name commonly used for Gaius Octavius after Julius Caesar’s assassination in 44 BCE and before he became Augustus in 27 BCE.

Julius Caesar: Roman general and dictator whose assassination in 44 BCE triggered a struggle over his legacy and power. Caesar adopted Octavian posthumously, making him heir to Caesar’s name, property, and political following.
