Odoacer

Odoacer was a Germanic military leader who deposed the Western Roman emperor Romulus Augustulus in 476 and ruled Italy until Theodoric the Great defeated him.

Foederati: Foederati were peoples bound to Rome by treaties that exchanged military service for subsidies or settlement rights. Odoacer led troops drawn from groups serving within the late Roman military system.
Ravenna: Ravenna is a city in northeastern Italy that served as the capital of the Western Roman Empire. Odoacer ruled from the city that had housed the western imperial court.
