Okavango Delta

A vast inland delta in northern Botswana, where the Okavango River spreads into the Kalahari and forms seasonal wetlands without reaching the sea.

Okavango River: A river flowing from the Angolan highlands through Namibia into Botswana, where it disperses across the Kalahari. Its annual flood supplies the water that spreads through the delta.
Kalahari Desert: A vast semi-arid sandy region of southern Africa spanning parts of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. The delta lies within the Kalahari’s dry interior.
