Knowra Okwui Enwezor Okwui Enwezor Okwui Enwezor (1963–2019) was a Nigerian curator, critic, and writer who reshaped contemporary art through major exhibitions, including Documenta 11 and the 2015 Venice Biennale.
Documenta 11 : The 2002 edition of the quinquennial contemporary-art exhibition in Kassel, Germany, directed by Okwui Enwezor. Its five-part structure and global scope established Enwezor’s curatorial approach on an unprecedented scale.
Platform : A public program of discussions and events that develops alongside an exhibition. Documenta 11’s five platforms made debate and research part of the exhibition rather than supplementary programming.
Koyo Kouoh : A Cameroonian-Swiss curator and writer who directed the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. Kouoh and Enwezor helped expand the institutional visibility of contemporary African art.
