The Weather Project : A 2003 installation by Eliasson that filled Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall with an artificial sun and mirrored ceiling. Its enormous artificial sun made spectators part of a staged atmospheric environment.
Monofrequency light : Light concentrated in a narrow frequency range, which suppresses many distinctions between colors. Eliasson uses it to make familiar spaces and objects appear nearly monochromatic.
Icelandic landscape : Iceland’s distinctive terrain of glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls, and geothermal features. Icelandic terrain and weather inform recurring encounters with elemental natural forces in his work.
