Olympic flame

The Olympic flame is lit before each Olympic Games, carried by torch relay to the host city, and kept burning during the Games as a symbol of continuity and peace.

Olympic torch relay: A ceremonial journey carrying the Olympic flame from its lighting place to the host city. It transports the flame through successive handoffs before the Games begin.
