Knowra Operation Barbarossa Operation Barbarossa Operation Barbarossa was Nazi Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union, launched on 22 June 1941. It opened the Eastern Front of World War II and became the largest land invasion in history.
Operation Blue : Germany’s 1942 summer offensive in southern Soviet territory, aimed at capturing oil fields and reaching the Caucasus. It was the renewed southern campaign after Barbarossa failed to defeat the Soviet Union.
Eastern Front (World War II) : The theater of World War II in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union, where Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union. Barbarossa opened this enormous theater of war.
