Operetta

Operetta is a light form of opera that combines singing with spoken dialogue, usually in comic plots and with smaller-scale musical forces.

Opera: Opera is drama staged through singing, orchestral music, and theatrical design. Operetta adapts opera’s musical storytelling while giving spoken dialogue a larger role.
Jacques Offenbach: Jacques Offenbach was a German-born French composer known for comic operas and operettas. His Paris works helped establish operetta as a distinct, popular theatrical form.
