Opisthokont

An opisthokont is a eukaryote in the clade that includes animals, fungi, and their unicellular relatives. Many opisthokont cells have a single flagellum positioned at the rear.

Animal: A multicellular eukaryote in the kingdom Animalia, generally obtaining nutrients by ingestion. Animals are one of the two familiar major branches within Opisthokonta.
Opisthokont flagellum: A eukaryotic flagellum that emerges from the rear of a swimming cell. Its posterior position is the trait behind the name Opisthokonta.
Eukaryote: An organism whose cells contain a nucleus and other membrane-bound compartments. Opisthokonts are one major branch of eukaryotic life.
