Orange Revolution

The Orange Revolution was a mass protest movement in Ukraine that challenged the disputed 2004 presidential election and led to a rerun won by opposition candidate Viktor Yushchenko.

2004 Ukrainian presidential election: Ukraine's presidential election, held in October and November 2004, whose disputed second-round result triggered mass protests. The contested runoff was the immediate trigger for the movement.
Independence Square: Kyiv's central public square, also known as Maidan Nezalezhnosti, and a major site of political gatherings. The square became the movement's principal protest camp and gathering place.
