Ordoño II of León

Ordoño II was king of León from 914 to 924. His reign strengthened the kingdom and extended Christian power southward through campaigns against al-Andalus.

Battle of San Esteban de Gormaz (917): A 917 battle in which León and its allies defeated forces of the Umayyad emirate of Córdoba. The victory marked an early success in Ordoño II’s wars against Córdoba.
