Øresund Bridge

The Øresund Bridge is a combined bridge-and-tunnel crossing linking Copenhagen, Denmark, with Malmö, Sweden. Its road and rail route crosses the strait through a bridge, an artificial island, and a tunnel.

Øresund Tunnel: A submerged road-and-rail tunnel forming the western section of the Øresund crossing. It carries traffic beneath the shipping channel where a bridge would obstruct passage.
Øresund Agreement: A 1991 agreement between Denmark and Sweden to build a fixed link across the Øresund. It established the political commitment behind the crossing.
