Organization of Eastern Caribbean States

The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an intergovernmental organization that promotes integration and cooperation among eastern Caribbean countries, including through a shared economic union and institutions.

Revised Treaty of Basseterre: The 2010 treaty establishing the OECS Economic Union and setting rules for cooperation among OECS members. It provides the legal framework for the union and the organization’s common institutions.
Eastern Caribbean: The island region along the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea, including the Lesser Antilles. The OECS takes its name and geographic focus from this part of the Caribbean.
Eastern Caribbean Common Market: A regional economic arrangement among eastern Caribbean territories that preceded the OECS. It was the immediate institutional predecessor to the organization.

Treaty of Basseterre: The 1981 treaty that established the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. It founded the OECS and defined its initial framework for cooperation.
