Ōshikōchi no Mitsune

Ōshikōchi no Mitsune was a Japanese waka poet and court official of the early Heian period, celebrated as one of the Thirty-six Immortals of Poetry and a compiler of the Kokinshū.

Waka: Waka is a Japanese poetic tradition, especially the five-line, thirty-one-syllable form called tanka. Mitsune composed within this tradition, whose compact form shaped his poems.
