Osteoglossiformes

Osteoglossiformes is an order of mostly freshwater ray-finned fishes, including arowanas, arapaimas, elephantfishes, and knifefishes. Many have toothed bones on the tongue and the roof of the mouth.

Teleostei: Teleostei is the largest infraclass of ray-finned fishes, containing most living fish species. Osteoglossiformes belongs to this vast radiation of modern bony fishes.
Electroreception: Electroreception is the detection of electrical fields produced by other organisms or the environment. Mormyrids use it to sense prey and surroundings in murky water.

Ray-finned fish: Ray-finned fishes are vertebrates whose fins are supported by slender bony or cartilaginous rays. This broader fish group contains Osteoglossiformes and defines its basic fin anatomy.
