Ottokar II of Bohemia

Ottokar II was king of Bohemia from 1253 to 1278 and one of the most powerful rulers in Central Europe. He expanded his lands into Austria and other territories before Rudolf I defeated and killed him at the Battle of Marchfeld.

Premyslid dynasty: A Bohemian ruling dynasty that held power from the ninth century until 1306. Ottokar inherited the Bohemian crown from this dynasty and extended its influence.
Frederick II, Duke of Austria: The last Babenberg duke of Austria, killed in battle in 1246 without a surviving male heir. His death created the succession crisis that drew Ottokar into Austrian politics.

Constance of Hungary: A Hungarian princess who became Ottokar II’s second wife in 1261. Her marriage linked Ottokar’s dynasty to the neighboring Árpád kingdom.
