Overview effect

The overview effect is a reported shift in perspective experienced by some astronauts when viewing Earth from space, often involving a sense of planetary unity and fragility.

Edgar Mitchell: Edgar Mitchell was an American astronaut who walked on the Moon during Apollo 14. He described a profound shift in consciousness during the return from the Moon.
Apollo 8: Apollo 8 was the first crewed mission to orbit the Moon, in December 1968. Its crew saw Earth from lunar orbit and produced the Earthrise photograph.
