Oxford Movement

The Oxford Movement was a nineteenth-century renewal movement within the Church of England that emphasized its Catholic heritage, sacramental life, and apostolic continuity.

John Keble: An Anglican clergyman and poet whose 1833 sermon is traditionally regarded as the Oxford Movement’s beginning. His sermon on national apostasy helped turn concern about church independence into a public campaign.
