Pachacuti

Pachacuti was an Inca ruler traditionally credited with transforming Cusco’s kingdom into an expanding empire during the 15th century.

Inca Empire: The Andean empire ruled by the Inca from Cusco until the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. Pachacuti’s conquests and reforms helped turn this empire into a major Andean power.
Inca conquest of the Chanka: A conflict in which the Inca defeated the Chanka, a rival Andean people, near Cusco. Tradition presents this victory as the turning point that secured Pachacuti’s rise.
Viracocha Inca: An Inca ruler traditionally identified as Pachacuti’s father and predecessor. Accounts of Pachacuti’s rise place him in conflict with his father during the Chanka crisis.

Sacsayhuamán: An Inca monumental complex on a hill above Cusco, known for its massive fitted stone walls. Its construction is traditionally associated with Pachacuti’s reshaping of the capital.
Inca resettlement policy: The Inca practice of relocating communities to serve political, economic, or military aims. Resettlement could weaken local resistance and strengthen imperial control.
