Paddy Chayefsky

Paddy Chayefsky (1923–1981) was an American screenwriter and playwright whose work includes the television dramas Marty and The Hospital and the film Network.

Marty: A 1955 television play by Paddy Chayefsky about a lonely Bronx butcher seeking companionship. This intimate television drama established Chayefsky’s reputation and became an Academy Award-winning film.
Teleplay: A script written for a television drama or other television program. Chayefsky first became prominent through television scripts shaped for live broadcast.
