Pademelon

A pademelon is a small, stocky macropod in the genus Thylogale, native to forests and scrublands of Australia and nearby islands.

Macropodidae: The marsupial family containing kangaroos, wallabies, and pademelons. Pademelons are among the smaller members of this family of hopping marsupials.
Understory: The vegetation layer beneath the canopy of a forest. Dense understory provides pademelons with cover and food.
