Pallava script

Pallava script is a South Indian Brahmi-derived script used under the Pallava dynasty, especially from the sixth to eighth centuries. Its forms helped shape writing systems across Southeast Asia.

Brahmi script: Brahmi is an ancient South Asian script from which most modern Indic scripts descend. Pallava writing developed from southern forms of this older script.
Pallava dynasty: The Pallava dynasty ruled parts of southeastern India from roughly the third to ninth centuries. Its courts and religious institutions provided the political setting for Pallava script.
