Parasitiformes

Parasitiformes is one of the two major lineages of mites, encompassing ticks and several groups of mites, including mesostigmatids and opilioacarids.

Acari: Acari is the arachnid group comprising mites and ticks. Parasitiformes is one of Acari’s two principal evolutionary lineages.
Tick: A tick is a blood-feeding parasitiform arachnid in the order Ixodida. Ticks illustrate specialized host attachment and blood feeding within the lineage.
