Parnassianism

Parnassianism was a nineteenth-century poetic movement that prized formal perfection, impersonal expression, and precise description over Romantic emotion.

Le Parnasse contemporain: A series of French poetry anthologies published between 1866 and 1876, associated with the Parnassian movement. The anthologies gave the movement its name and brought its poets together.
