Particracy

Particracy is a political system in which political parties dominate government and public decision-making, limiting the independence of elected representatives and other institutions.

Party discipline: The practice of requiring legislators to vote and act in line with their political party. It makes party leaders’ decisions binding on representatives inside legislatures.
Parliamentary system: A system of government in which the executive depends on the confidence of a legislature. Parliamentary government can empower parties, but does not by itself entail their dominance over institutions.

Direct democracy: A political system in which citizens decide policy directly rather than solely through elected representatives. It provides a route for public decisions that bypasses party-controlled representative institutions.
