Partisan media

Partisan media presents news or commentary from an identifiable political perspective or in support of a political side.

Media framing: Media framing is the selection and emphasis of aspects of an issue that shape how audiences interpret it. Partisan outlets frame events to favor particular interpretations and political actors.
Objectivity in journalism: Objectivity in journalism is an ideal of reporting that separates verifiable evidence from a journalist’s personal preferences. It is a professional ideal often contrasted with explicitly partisan presentation.
Party press: The party press is a form of journalism organized around and openly supporting political parties. It is a direct historical predecessor of modern partisan news outlets.
Political knowledge: Political knowledge is information people possess about political institutions, actors, issues, and events. Partisan outlets can inform audiences while emphasizing different facts and interpretations.

Penny press: The penny press was a nineteenth-century mass-market newspaper industry built around inexpensive papers and broad readership. Its commercial model helped shift newspapers beyond direct party sponsorship.
Misinformation: Misinformation is false or inaccurate information shared regardless of whether deception is intended. Partisan settings can circulate inaccurate claims that reinforce political loyalties.
Selective exposure: Selective exposure is the tendency to choose information that aligns with existing beliefs or preferences. Audiences may seek partisan outlets that affirm their political views.
Media bias: Media bias is systematic distortion or imbalance in how information is selected, presented, or interpreted. Partisanship is one possible source of bias, but bias can also arise without party allegiance.
