Patrick Pearse

Patrick Pearse was an Irish nationalist, poet, teacher, and revolutionary leader who proclaimed the Irish Republic during the 1916 Easter Rising. British authorities executed him after the rebellion.

James Connolly: An Irish socialist and trade union leader who commanded the Irish Citizen Army during the Easter Rising. Connolly shared leadership of the Rising and signed its proclamation with Pearse.
