Treaty : A formal written agreement between states or other actors governed by international law. A peace treaty is a treaty whose central purpose is ending war and setting peace terms.
Territorial change : A change in sovereignty, borders, or control over territory. Treaties may cede land, restore borders, or establish new boundaries.
Treaty of Westphalia : The 1648 agreements that ended the Thirty Years' War in the Holy Roman Empire and the Eighty Years' War between Spain and the Dutch Republic. It is a foundational European example of negotiated settlements ending prolonged wars.

War reparations : Compensation or other remedies imposed on a state for losses or harms caused by war. Financial and material obligations can form a contested part of peace terms.
