PEN International

PEN International is a worldwide association of writers that promotes literature, freedom of expression, and solidarity among writers.

Writers in Prison Committee: A PEN International committee that campaigns for writers imprisoned or persecuted for their work. It is the organization’s principal channel for responding to threats against writers.
John Galsworthy: An English novelist and playwright who received the 1932 Nobel Prize in Literature. As PEN’s first president, he helped establish its international literary mission.
