People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

The People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia was a socialist state established in 1987 under Mengistu Haile Mariam and overthrown in 1991.

Ethiopian Revolution: The upheaval beginning in 1974 that ended Ethiopia’s imperial government and brought the Derg to power. The revolution produced the military regime that declared the republic in 1987.
