Peramelemorphia

Peramelemorphia is an order of Australasian marsupials comprising bandicoots and bilbies. Its members are typically small to medium-sized, ground-dwelling mammals with long snouts and backward-opening pouches.

Bandicoot: A marsupial in the family Peramelidae, generally characterized by a pointed snout and a pouch that opens backward. Bandicoots make up one of the order’s two familiar groups.
