Perimeter

Perimeter is the total length of a closed figure’s boundary. For a polygon, it is the sum of the lengths of its sides.

Length: Length is a measure of the distance between two points. Perimeter combines lengths measured along each part of a boundary.
Rectangle: A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles. Its perimeter equals twice the sum of its length and width.
Area: Area measures the size of a two-dimensional region. A shape can have the same area as another but a different perimeter.
Volume: Volume measures the three-dimensional space occupied by a solid. Volume concerns interior space, not the length around a flat figure.
Polygon: A polygon is a closed plane figure bounded by straight line segments. Its perimeter is found by adding the lengths of its sides.
Square: A square is a quadrilateral with four equal sides and four right angles. Equal side lengths reduce its perimeter formula to four times one side.
Isoperimetric inequality: The isoperimetric inequality states that a circle encloses the greatest area for a given perimeter. It relates the maximum enclosed area to a fixed boundary length.
Surface area: Surface area is the total area covering a three-dimensional object's exterior. Surface area measures a solid’s outer covering rather than a planar boundary’s length.
Circle: A circle is the set of points in a plane at a fixed distance from a center. Its boundary length is called circumference, the circular counterpart of perimeter.
Triangle: A triangle is a polygon with three sides and three angles. Its perimeter is the sum of its three side lengths.
