Peter Canisius

Peter Canisius (1521–1597) was a Dutch Jesuit priest and theologian whose widely used catechisms helped shape Catholic education and teaching during the Counter-Reformation.

Society of Jesus: A Catholic religious order founded in 1540, known for education, missionary work, and disciplined service to the papacy. Canisius joined this new order and became one of its leading figures in Central Europe.
