Peter Kropotkin

Peter Kropotkin (1842–1921) was a Russian geographer and anarchist theorist who argued that cooperation supports evolution and that society could organize around voluntary association and common ownership.

Mutual aid: Cooperation among individuals that produces shared benefits, often through reciprocal support. Kropotkin made mutual aid his central explanation for cooperation in nature and human society.
Evolutionary game theory: The study of how strategic behaviors spread or persist in populations through evolutionary processes. It offers later formal tools for examining when cooperation can persist, a question central to Kropotkin’s argument.
Russian anarchism: Anarchist movements and ideas that developed in the Russian Empire and among Russian political exiles. Kropotkin became one of the best-known theorists in this wider political tradition.
