Petrobras

Petrobras is a Brazilian state-controlled energy corporation that explores for and produces oil and natural gas, and operates refining, transport, and related businesses.

Pre-salt layer: A deep-water geological formation beneath thick salt deposits that holds major oil and gas reserves off Brazil’s coast. Petrobras became a leading operator after major discoveries in this offshore formation.
