Philips is a Dutch multinational company founded in 1891. It began as a lighting and electronics maker and is now focused primarily on health technology.

Gerard Philips: Gerard Philips was a Dutch engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded Philips in 1891. He established the Eindhoven lamp factory that became the company.
