Philo Farnsworth

Philo Farnsworth was an American inventor who pioneered electronic television and developed the first fully functional all-electronic television system.

Image dissector: An electronic camera tube that converts an optical image into a pattern of electrical signals. Farnsworth’s image dissector scanned scenes electronically, forming the core of his television camera.
San Francisco television demonstration of 1927: A 1927 demonstration in which Farnsworth transmitted an image electronically using his television system. It marked an early public proof of Farnsworth’s all-electronic approach.
