Piperidine

Piperidine is a saturated six-membered ring containing five carbon atoms and one nitrogen atom, with molecular formula C₅H₁₁N. It is a secondary amine and a widely used building block in chemical synthesis.

Piperidine conformation: The three-dimensional shapes adopted by the piperidine ring through rotation and ring inversion. Chair conformations minimize strain, while ring inversion exchanges axial and equatorial positions.
