Platform game

A platform game is a video game centered on moving across platforms while jumping over obstacles and enemies. Its levels test movement, timing, and spatial judgment.

Jumping: A movement action that propels a character upward and often forward before gravity brings it back down. Jump height, air control, and timing determine which gaps and hazards can be crossed.
Donkey Kong: A 1981 arcade game in which Mario climbs platforms and ladders while avoiding barrels and other hazards. Its stacked obstacle courses helped establish the platform game's basic form.
