Pokémon Go is a location-based augmented-reality game in which players explore real-world places to find, catch, and battle Pokémon.

Augmented reality: Technology that overlays computer-generated content onto a view of the physical world. The game can place Pokémon into camera views of real surroundings.
Niantic: An American software company that develops location-based augmented-reality games. Niantic developed Pokémon Go and supplied its location-based game technology.
