Political opportunity structure

Political opportunity structure is the configuration of political institutions, power relations, and constraints that shapes the prospects and strategies of collective action.

Political process theory: A theory of social movements emphasizing political opportunities, mobilizing structures, and interpretive framing. It places opportunity structures within a broader account of how movements develop.
