Polyester fiber : A textile fiber made from polyester polymers, commonly polyethylene terephthalate. PET is the most widely used polymer for synthetic textile fibers.

James Tennant Dickson : A British chemist who co-invented polyethylene terephthalate with John Rex Whinfield. Dickson’s work with Whinfield led to the patent for PET in the early 1940s.
