Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

The head of the United Kingdom government, who leads the Cabinet and normally remains in office while able to command the confidence of the House of Commons.

Cabinet of the United Kingdom: The senior body of government ministers that directs United Kingdom policy and administration. The prime minister chairs the Cabinet and appoints or dismisses its members.
Robert Walpole: British statesman who led government from 1721 to 1742 and is often regarded as the first prime minister. His long dominance helped establish the practical model of a chief minister.
